Hair Wrapping

Our hair braids are amazingly strong and super easy to look after. A fresh wrap will be a little stiff to start with, but will relax a little after a shower/bath. Hair wraps like to be washed with your hair as normal with shampoo and conditioner.

Removable wraps are also available for party packages

Hair wrapping (also known as hair braiding) is a wonderful art form.

We at Sunshine Artists have been producing this bespoke hair art for the general public since 1994. Creating beautifully crafted bespoke festival fashion hair accessories, loved by the young and old and also well known as a very popular summer seaside treat for millions of children across the globe since the 1980s. The art originates from Native America and only the men adorned themselves with this beautiful thread art wearing it proudly like a peacock. Now in the present day; hair wraps are widely loved by many walks of life. We have braided boys rats tails and even men's beards!

We pride ourselves on catering for any style and making that special hair wrap that just screams you.

With 20 years experience in braiding hair we have perfected the art to an amazingly high standard with some of the fastest in the UK. Our top artists can produce 1 beautiful bespoke braid every 10 minutes!

We use the finest quality DMC embroidery silks which are wrapped around a small piece of hair, rougly a 1 inch section usuallly either from the top of the parting or behind the ear. You can choose up to 8 individual colours from over 40 shades of thread including glittery threads. At the end of each braid we have a a range of beads, charms and feathers to give that finishing touch!

Hair Wrap Care
Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How long can I keep in my hair?

A: We advise 6 months maximum (for embroidery) and (1 month for wool) as after this time the hair within starts to matt/form a dread. We gernerally advise parents this is an ideal time to tkae out of their children's hair. If you have fine hair or your hair grows super fast, you may find you want to take it out 4 - 6 months as when the hair grows, you can feel the weight of it more, but its a personal choice of when you would like to remove your wrap. Some of our customers do keep theirs in for a whole year! - but the hair is pretty matted by this point! Some people do like to do this, as it's like having a mini dreadlock!

Q: How do I take out?

A: You can either unravell or chop out from the top. Some of our customers opt for a wrap behind the ear so they can cut and keep the wrap, especially if it's turned into a dreadlock!
